Course Content

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively fulfil their duties as a Chief Warden in the event of an emergency.

The course explains the obligations and requirements of a Warden and the Chief Warden/Deputy Chief Warden across a range of emergencies, and how they integrate into the Emergency Control Organisation structure. This unit covers the competency required to make decisions about people’s safety during a workplace emergency and to give instructions on the priority order for responding to the emergency incident area. The unit places responsibility on individual employees who are delegated responsibility as part of an Emergency Control Organisation to lead in the preparation of workplace emergency procedures; command, control and coordinate workplace emergency procedures and response; and conclude the incident. People who undertake this work may act as the primary liaison with emergency services after their arrival.

PUAFER005 Operate as part of an emergency control organisation

On successful completion of this course, you will be issued a statement of attainment in PUAFER006 Lead An Emergency Control Organisation.

Additional Information

A successful outcome for this statement of attainment will be determined by a range of different assessment methods including a questionnaire, observation of simulated and practical activities etc.
