GENERAL INFORMATION
A First Aid certificate doesn’t quite ‘expire’, but it does need to be refreshed at regular intervals to ensure the information is current and reflects best practice.
BEFORE I BOOK MY CLASS
Some of our courses require students to complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the floor in order for a Statement of Attainment to be issued. Students will need to perform CPR (including strenuous physical compressions) while kneeling on the ground. A pillow can be used under your knees to perform these exercises, but they must be performed on the ground. If you can’t perform CPR on the ground you can still attend the course to learn first aid, but we won’t be able to issue you with a Statement of Attainment for the unit.
Public training at one of our training venues may be a convenient option for smaller groups or individuals. We offer training 7 days a week, to be as convenient as possible.
Low risk workplaces (offices, libraries and most retail shops, workplaces with low exposure to hazards):
- one first aid officer for 10 to 50 employees
- two first aid officers for 51 to 100 employees
- an additional first aid officer for every additional 100 employees
Higher risk workplaces (those where employees may be exposed to hazards that could result in serious injury or illness that would require immediate medical treatment, which could include manufacturing plants, commercial kitchens, meatworks, motor vehicle and body panel workshops, medical research facilities, prisons and forestry operations):
- one first aid officer for up to 25 employees
- two first aid officers for 26 to 50 employees
- an additional first aid officer for every additional 50 employees

ON THE DAY OF TRAINING
Cancelling: if you cancel 5 days before the training date you can receive a full refund.
For some of our classes, you will need to bring your own smart device such as a smartphone, tablet or laptop to your class. The device needs to have mobile data and be fully charged. You will use the device to answer some multiple-choice questions and minimal data will be used.
Do also bring snacks and your lunch.
Thus taking all of the above in consideration, it is in the best interest of all in the Training Room that no child/children should be in the training room during the training hours.
AFTER MY CLASS
In most cases, you will receive an email within 24 hours of completing your class.
Please check your junk mail or spam folders as it can sometimes end up in there.
If you are still having issues receiving a copy of your certificate, please contact
Customer Service team via email bookings@richriverfirstaid.com.au or call on 1300 046 381.
Transcripts reflect the training activity reported by us as an RTO into the national VET collections, so outcomes are not updated in transcripts in real-time.
Reporting is quarterly for Government Funded training and annually for most Fee for
Service training activity and for data submitted via Boards of Study for school students.
Hence, any training undertaken in the year 2020 will reflect on your transcript in the coming year 2021.
To avoid confusion, training graduates should rely on documentation issued by their RTO for recent training pending regular national collection uploads.
